Evaluation: A rare GMC Sprint (essentially an El Camino with GMC badges) made even more interesting by the factory 454 (most got a 350 or 400). Some blemishes on the rear bumper and solid older repaint with some chips at a few of the panel edges. Excellent original interior. Maintained and tidy underneath.
Bottom Line: We just saw this GMC Sprint at Mecum’s Tulsa auction in June, where it brought $14,850. The odometer shows 17 more miles and we still think it would make a nifty, conversation-starting tow vehicle for a vintage race car. The higher price just three months later is mostly just down to the fact that Dallas was a much larger auction with more bidders keeping an eye out for interesting vehicles like this.
