Evaluation: Originally used by the Liverpool police. Restoration finished in 2019. Represented as one of eight surviving examples of Liverpool’s original 27-car order in 1970. Paint and panel fit are good. The chrome is shiny like new, and the interior shows little wear.
Bottom Line: This thing is a heck of a lot more charming than the Toyotas and Vauxhalls used by the rozzers today, and although police in Italy and Dubai use supercars as police chase vehicles, there can’t be many more fun ways to chase bad guys than in an original Mini Cooper S. Price-wise, this car brought roughly what a civilian 1275 Cooper S in this condition would bring in America, but with the police livery and equipment it has an extra layer of charm to it. Good buy.
