Evaluation: Recent restoration | Represented with original engine. Restoration finished at the end of 2018. Original wood body frame and sheetmetal. Slight pitting around the radio, but otherwise the interior looks like new. The engine bay and underbody look new as well. A fresh, handsome Morgan with no excuses, and indeed probably better than new. Located in Florida.
Bottom Line: RM’s inspection report calls this car one of the best Morgans it has ever sold, and we believe it. Morgans don’t often get this kind of royal treatment when it comes time to restore them. Bidders seemed to recognize this right away, bidding it up to $38,000 already by May 26. That would have been a relatively strong price for a 4/4, but it kept climbing. The same money could get you into a good Plus 4 or even a reasonably nice Plus 8. That said, the total is less than what was reportedly spent on the restoration.
