Chassis No. S75, Engine No. LG6451; Blue over blue leather and cloth, with a black cloth top. RHD. 4.5-liter L-6. Competition-specification Meadows engine installed, with the original (#7478) included. Single right-side spare, spotlight-mirror, old fire extinguisher mounted on the right side of the body. Steamboat cowl ventilators, radiator stoneguard, Lucas headlights, outside exhaust head pipes, and folding windshield.

Evaluation: Unrestored original | The definition of patina. Scratched, chipped old paint. Worn, frayed upholstery and dull trim. Runs (according to the engine starting instructions on the seat and the catalog description, at least). A gorgeous low-chassis (“underslung” to Americans). Doesn’t appear ever to have been apart and probably never should be. Complete and known among Invicta owners as “Scout.” A marvelous old car in wonderfully preserved condition.

Bottom Line: Invictas are inherently desirable for their rarity (there are thought to be only 1000 or so Invictas total and around 75 low-chassis S-types) and 95-mph performance. The breathtaking patina and history brought a handsome premium.
