Mecum returned to the nation’s fourth largest city for the 12th time this April, with a reported $37M in total sales over three days. A big chunk of that total and indeed most of the more interesting cars came from the “Horton Museum Collection,” a group of over 100 cars from the now-closed classic car museum in Nocona, TX that showcased the collection of Pete Horton, who passed away last year. Among the highlights were numerous high-spec C1, C2 and C3 Corvettes as well as 1950s American luxury cars, prewar greats, and a super-rare L89 Camaro.
